In 2016, 23,800 individuals were counted as fashion designers within the United States. Half-way clothes are a substitute for ready-to-wear, “off-the-peg”, or prêt-à-porter fashion. Half-way garments are intentionally unfinished pieces of clothing that encourage co-design between the “major Fashion & Online Shop News designer” of the garment, and what would normally be thought-about, the passive “consumer”.
